Q: What is a Fanzine?
A: As per wikipedia "A fanzine (blend of fan and magazine or zine) is a non-professional and non-official publication produced by enthusiasts of a particular cultural phenomenon (such as a literary or musical genre) for the pleasure of others who share their interest." However, if applicable this fanzine will have many digital products inside, such as music.Q: Will the zine be physical or digital?
A: Digital. As this is the head owners first project, we wish for everyone to experience this community collaboration with us.Q: Will the Zine be free?
A: Yes!Q: What types of content will be featured?
A: All kinds! Because of the digital nature of the vine, we are allowing a variety of multimedia to be added into the zine, such as music, videos, writing (fiction or non-fiction) or collages. Once the contributor apps are open, feel free to apply if you think you can contribute a unique piece of digital media.Q: Is there any content that isn't allowed?
A: Please see our Content Guidelines below. The zine's age rating is PG.Q: Who can apply to the zine?
A: Anyone and everyone! We want to open our project to as many creatives as we can, including contributions you may not commonly see in zines, such as music and non-fiction work. Depending on interest, we may have to limit applications, because we need to keep the scope of the project manageable. Our goal is to run a beginner-friendly zine with many people and pieces of media! Even if it’s your first project of this kind, you are more than welcome to apply.Q: Will contributors be compensated?
A: Contributors will receive a free copy of the zine as thanks for their work. But all contributors are working for free and for fun.Q: Is there an age requirement?
A: Because all contributors are required to join the project Discord server, all contributors must be 13 or older.Q: Can i work with another artist?
A: Yes! Collabs are allowed between artists, as well as artists teaming up with other creatives. Feel free to apply as a group.
The zine is rated PG. While this might seem limiting the mod team will work with the contributors the best we can to make sure it is fair for everyone involved.Sexual Content: Sexual content will not be allowed under any circumstances. Including innuendos and sex jokes.Gore: No gore allowed. As long as its appropriate to what is in the game, it is allowed.Horror: As long as its appropriate to what is in the game, it is allowed.Swearing: No swearing and no slurs.Crossovers: While crossovers are a neat idea, we would like to keep this focused on Dragonvale and keep other intellectual property out of the zine.Generative AI: Use of generative AI is not permitted. Contributors caught using AI in work for the zine will be removed.Along with these rules you will be expected to follow the guidelines for the position you applied for such as drawing dimensions or word count.
